Creating Career Pathways Across the Northern Territory

How DICE Australia is Investing in Local Workforce Development

At DICE Australia, infrastructure is only part of the mission. As an Indigenous-owned construction company based in the Northern Territory, we are equally committed to building strong, skilled and future-ready workforces across the communities we serve.

Our work extends beyond construction sites and into mentorship, on-the-job training, and career development initiatives – creating lasting opportunities for Indigenous Australians and the wider NT community to thrive in the construction industry and beyond. For DICE (Aust), every project is a chance to open doors, upskill local talent and foster meaningful long-term careers.

We engage local apprentices, trainees and subcontractors on our projects, ensuring real-world learning experiences that build confidence, capability and long-term employment pathways. Our delivery model is inclusive, focusing on individuals from diverse backgrounds across urban, regional, and remote parts of the Territory.

In partnership with registered training organisations, community leaders, and employment service providers, we identify aspiring workers and connect them to tailored training opportunities. From carpentry and civil works to project supervision and business operations, our workforce development programs span a broad range of roles and skill sets.

As a Northern Territory-based builder, DICE (Aust) takes pride in employing local. Our approach ensures that the people who live in these communities are also the ones who help build and maintain them. This creates culturally-informed, community-led, and sustainable outcomes – delivering real value at a grassroots level.

Support doesn’t end at sign-up. We provide dedicated mentoring to apprentices and trainees, pairing them with experienced professionals who offer guidance, encouragement, and cultural understanding throughout their journey. This proven model improves retention and empowers individuals to grow into leadership roles – with many former trainees now managing major projects across the NT.
